Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot is the UK’s most valuable race meeting, and with over £6.58 million up for grabs in prize money, it’s no wonder the world’s best racehorses flock to the 5-day festival.

The 2016 Royal Ascot festival runs from Tuesday 14th June through to Saturday 18th June, and you’ll find bookies offer some great free bets and betting offers on the 30 races.

Royal Ascot Betting

Royal Ascot features 6 world-class races that attract the best horses/jockeys in the world.

2016 will see a record number of overseas challengers from the US, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan taking on the strong contenders from Ireland and the UK.

With at least one feature race each day of the meet, and 3 Group 1 races on the opening day, bookies are offering some cracking odds and betting offers in the lead up to the festival.

Let’s take a look at the opening day feature races, online bookies favourites and some of the best Royal Ascot free bets, odds and offers that you need to know about.

The Queen Anne Stakes

The first Group 1 race of the 2016 Royal Ascot Festival is The Queen Anne Stakes, a 1-mile race for aged 4+ runners boasting prize money of over £600,000.

There’s a bit of a different feel about this year’s race, with the 2015 winner Solow ruled out following an injury, the Guineas winner Gleneagles retired, and the UK and Irish contingent not as strong as previous years.

Tepin, the 5-year-old American mare trained by Mark Casse is the online bookies favourite to win the opening race, and Bet365 offer the best odds at 4/1.

Ervedya, the French runner trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, is another favourite of major bookies and you’ll find Coral offer the best odds at 7/1.

Betway offer the best odds on the bookies two other favourite runners. At 8/1 is Irish runner Belardo (trained by Roger Varian), and at 11/1 is Time Test (trained by Roger Charlton).

The King's Stand Stakes

Next up in the Group 1 racing is The King's Stand Stakes, a 5 furlong sprint that’s been recently dominated by Australian horses.

Profitable, an Irish runner trained by Clive Cox, is the firm favourite and given his performances so far this season, it’s hard to believe that Ladbrokes offer odds of 6/1.

Also in the top 4 favourites for the King's Stand Stakes are Irish runners Meccas Angel (a 5 year old Mare trained by M Dods) and Muthmir (trained by W J Haggas).

Betfair offer the best odds on Meccas Angel winning the King's Stand Stakes at 8/1, while Betway offer the best odds on Muthmir taking the race at 9/1.

St James's Palace Stakes

The final Group 1 race of Royal Ascot on Tuesday is the St James's Palace Stakes, a 1m Race for three-year-old colts with prize money of over £400,000.

The bookies favourite for the final Group 1 race of Royal Ascot’s opening day is The Gurkha, an Irish runner trained by the renowned Aidan O’Brien.

William Hill offer the best odds on The Gurkah winning the St James's Palace Stakes at 6/4.

There are two other Irish runners that online bookies offer as top contenders to win the St James’s Palace Stakes on Tuesday.

Awtaad the 3 year old Brown Colt trained by Kevin Prendergast is at odds of 3/1 by Ladbrokes, while Emotionless trained by Charlie Appleby is offered at odds of 12/1 by Stan James.

The other horse in the bookies top four for the St James's Palace Stakes include Galileo Gold who is trained by Hugo Palmer for the Al Shaqab Racing Stables.

Betfred offer the best odds on Galileo Gold winning the race at 9/2.
